Day 01: What They Do
My grandma has the heart of a servant.
Even when she doesn't feel like it.
Even when people don't deserve it.
Even when it goes unnoticed.
Her hands are always serving others.
And for that, she will always have my greatest admiration.

My grandfather has been gone from us now for several years, but I love that my grandma still wears her wedding rings. Yes, she has had several suitors knocking on her door over the past few years, which is to be expected because she is so wonderful. But she always politely turns them down, then turns to me with a genuine smile and says,
"Why would I want to be with another man when I've already had the best?"
I hope I get the chance to experience love like that someday. It would mean the world to me. I suppose all this waiting is supposed to make it mean even more when it does come, right?
I don't suppose telling God I am not a good waiter would make Him expediate the process, now would it?

This makes me think of my grandparents so much. She has often said there was just no way she could have a gentleman friend if my grandfather passed away. And he wrinkles his nose as if to say, "Yuck!" to the idea of someone else.
